Way To Achieve Quality Norms in Blow Room

A knowledge of quality norms alone will not satisfied the purpose unless the technician knows the ways and means of achieving those norms.

Therefore, those portion has been devoted for this purpose.Every practicing technician must carefully study this portion and put into practice the knowledge glaned by them.

1. Trash content in the Lap: Trash content in  the lap depend upon the cleaning efficiency of the blow room line.

    Cleaning Efficiency % (CE %)  =     (A-B )*100  
                                                                       A
Where,
                             A = Trash % in material feed
                             B = Trash % in material delivered

* Cleaning efficiency helps to evaluate the performance of the particular m/c.


2. Lap weight uniformity: Lap weight uniformity is judged by

                                     a. Lap rejection %
                                     b. CV% of 1 mtr. wrapping

Lap rejection and CV% of 1 mtr. wrapping are some what closely related and factors influence one will also affect the other.

Factor affecting lap rejection and 1 mtr. wrapping:

• Maintenance of a uniform rate of feed to scutchers. 
• Proper synchronization of m/c and effective functioning of various feed motions.
• Maintenance of the adequate production capacity of the preparatory mc. 
• Optimization of the sensibility of the feed regulating system.
• Narrow width endless nylon cone drum belt should be preferred as they give better correction.
• Control of variation in atmosphere condition.
• Uniform mixing of soft waste.
• Standardization of lap weight.
