Object: To study the swing door mechanism in bale opener
This lever is connected with a
connecting rod which again connect to a lever. This lever contain the belt
which is responsible for the motion extended feed lattice and so for the supply
of cotton.
Working: The cotton existing on hopper feed
lattice exerts some force on swing door this force is counter balanced by
torque due to dead weight but when cotton inside increases to a great extent
and the force exerted by cotton is not counter v balanced by the torque due to
dead weight then lever moves up to maintain equilibrium this moves connecting
rod in upward direction which causes to slackening of belt and hence power
transmission to the feed lattice collapse and consequently the supply stops but
as soon as cotton inside hopper decreases upto certain level lever moves down
resulting in tightening of belt and hence rebuilding power supply so feed again
starts.
